Plot/ Review
The plot of the
story is the Cuthbert are growing old and eventually want someone to take over
the farm and take care of them. They decided to adopted an orphan boy at a
local orphanage. Once Matthew goes to pick up the boy from the train station he
realized there was a mix up and they received a girl. Anne Shirley now has to
prove she’s worthy of staying. Anne wins the heart of Matthew instantly.
Marilla on the other hand is harder to win over because shes more guarded and believes
Anne isn’t ladylike. As time goes on Marilla becomes more and more fond of Anne.
Throughout the book, we exposed to her childhood and her journey to adulthood.
We see her different school academic awards even later obtaining a scholarship.
We witness her friendships and how close she grew close to people like Diana
Berry. We witness her journey to become ladylike like Marilla wanted. And we
get to witness her losing somebody close to her. Overall I really enjoyed the book. It was hard
to not fall in love with Anne Shirley! I enjoyed how the author wrote about a
number of years and allowed Anne to experience different obstacles. The writing
is easy to understand which is surprising since it was written in 1908. I
recommend this book to anyone who is bored and does not have anything to do.
The book is friendly enough for all ages but once u start reading one page you’ll
get hooked. The book has
inspired me so much to include in my final project. Anne goes through periods
of not feeling welcome, when she came into the Cuthbert feelings as if she intruded
since they wanted an orphan boy. And being an orphan had make her feeling as if
nobody wanted. But as time went on, she grew a relationship with the people of the
town and including her foster parents. Throughout the book she was going through
a period of who she was and not liking certain traits of herself, her hair. Like
I do not know as if Im Canada first or a Muslim first or just both.
