Place of birth: Lucy Muad
Montgomery was born in Clifton, Prince Edward Island in November 30, 1874.
Academic/ professional
timeline: At the age of six she attended a one room school in cavendish which
she completed her earlier education there. She took a break to spend time with
her father and his new wife and while she was staying their she published her
first poem which was titled On Cape Leforce published by a Prince Edward Island
newspaper. She returns to cavendish to finish her educated tenth grade
education. That same year she tried to get a teaching degree at the Prince of
Wales college. She taught a total of three schools before attending a
university in Halifax to get a higher education in English. Her grandfather
passed away and she rushed to cavendish to take care of her grandmother. She
wrote different poems and stories while she stated in cavendish. She wrote anne
of green gables and she sent it to publishers and she was rejected by all of
them. Two Years later she picked it back up and re wrote it and it finally got
published. It become a best seller instantly.
Inspiration: She was
inspired to Anne of green gables through an old journal written over a decade
ago. The journal talked about an Elderly couple apply to orphan asylum for a
boy by mistake a girl is sent them, that’s were the Cuthbert and Anne came
from.
